GOD LOVES AND CARES FOR THOSE HE HAS CALLED INTO DEAF MINISTRY

AND WE DO TOO!

In October 1989, the Shalom Lighthouse Retreat Center was opened.  Gary and Rhonda Barrett opened their home to pastors, missionaries, lay-leaders, co-workers and their spouses for a TIME-OUT…for refreshing, for healing, for restoring the soul, and renewing God’s Call and burden for Deaf ministry.

Hundreds of people–pastors, missionaries, leaders in Deaf ministry–have stayed at the Shalom Lighthouse.  The comment most shared by these precious servants of God is, “It is so peaceful here”.

God sees those He has called into Deaf ministry burning out, hurting, struggling with personal issues, and loneliness.  He sees marriages that are falling apart and the high divorce rate that takes place among Deaf leaders.

We are here to encourage, counsel, minister to, and pray with these laborers in Deaf ministry, and we have seen lives changed, marriages changed, families changed, and churches changed.  To God be all the glory!

We thank God for the privilege of ministering His love and care to these precious laborers in Deaf ministry.

If you are a pastor or laborer in Deaf ministry and you are looking for a place to come for a few days of rest, fellowship, encouragement, fun and prayer–we invite you and your spouse to make plans to stay with us at the Shalom Lighthouse Retreat Center.

The Retreat Center is very comfortable–much like a cozy bed and breakfast inn. There is no schedule to follow, and once you are here, there is no cost to you, you are our guest!

Contact us today for more information or to make a reservation.

God is changing lives, marriages, families, and churches–you can help.
