Almost too-good-to-be-true

Sundays, mom and us four kids enjoyed sleeping in.  We rarely went to church.  Yet, somehow, I learned that child’s song, “Jesus loves me this I know for the Bible tells me so.”

rhondafireplacecropjpgAfter Gary and I married we enjoyed our Sundays at IHOP (International House of Pancakes).

Then we just happened to meet Jay and Denise.  Long story short–they invited us to their church.  We went–THE NEXT DAY!  As the sermon ended, it didn’t matter that every eye was watching us–we stood and holding hands began walking the 20-something rows of pews toward the cross at the front of the church.  We knelt at the wooden altar rail.

My eyes closed, I prayed the words Jesus had waited so long to hear me say, “I love You, Jesus.”  All heaven rejoiced and, at 25 years old, our lives were changed forever.

As a new Believer, while reading HIS HOLY BOOK, I had an idea, “I will pray GOD WORDS over Gary, our sons, and other loved ones.”  I made a calendar, then I’d read through HIS HOLY BOOK choosing verses I’d like to pray.  I’d write the references in the littles boxes on the calendar.  This Calendar helped me faithfully pray for my loved ones, and I learned that praying GOD WORDS is a powerful way to pray.

Friends saw my calendar and wanted a copy.  So I copied the calendar and explained what I do.  Since then I’ve shared the Precious In HIS Sight Prayer Calendar one-on-one and at women’s meetings; mailed thousands of letters and Prayer Calendars “snail mail”; until the invention of the internet…now I post the Blog and Prayer Calendar on DMW, Social Media, and e-mail to everyone who wants to join me in prayer.

Life gets busy and it’s easy to set the Calendar aside collecting dust.  I know, me too…it’s too easy to skip our time with the Lord…it’s even too easy to skip praying for our loved ones.  It is a choice we have-to-make-every-day…PRAY or NOT PRAY.

Precious friends, it’s worth praying for our loved ones.  Think about all your prayers through the years.  God has seen and heard each prayer as you’ve lifted up your loved ones to His throne of grace.  He answers in His way and in His time.  Our God is faithful!

This verse encourages me greatly, “Do not become weary in doing good [PRAYING] for at the right time you will reap a harvest of righteousness if we do not give up”  (Galatians 6:9).

PreciousInHisSightSeptember2018OK, let’s do this.  It’s a new month.  Click on the Precious In HIS Sight Calendar, and it opens enlarged in a new window.  Look up the scripture for the day with me and let’s turn it into a prayer.

If we need more encouragement to pray–here it is James 5:16b, “The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective.”  That’s a WOW verse!

I print my Calendar and keep it with my Bible.  I encourage you to print the Calendar, too.  It’s been a great tool helping me through the years faithfully pray day-after-day for my Precious ones!

LET’S JUST KEEP DOING IT.  PRAY!  GOD IS LISTENING.

GOD TRULY CARES FOR WHAT AND WHO WE CARE ABOUT!

For forty years and counting, I’ve been reading–HIS HOLY BOOK, THE GOD WORDS, ALL 66 LOVE LETTERS–I’ve fallen more and more deeply in love with the Lover of my soul.  I believe the most amazing, wondrous, powerful, almost-too-good-to-be-true truth–THIS:  “Jesus loves me this I know for the Bible tells me so.”

Some years ago, my heart overflowing with thankfulness to my Jesus…opening my journal to a blank page, I began writing a song.  There is one recurring line, “How could I not love You, after the way You’ve loved me?”

When it hit’s us like a shooting star straight in our hearts––Someone, not just anyone, but the Almighty Holy Son of God, whose Name is above every name, humbled Himself to become one of us, so He could die for us on the cross, taking our sins and giving us His holy/righteousness in return! and eternal life!!!  WOW…how could we not love Jesus?!!!

Join me in praying the hearts of more souls will be hit with the truth of God’s love like a shooting star straight in their hearts…and they, too,  will fall in love with Jesus as Savior and Lord! AMEN.
