While there is Still Time

“Yet you do not know what your life will be like tomorrow.  What is your life?  For you are a vapor that appears for a little while and then vanishes” (James 4:14).GaryPicRoundCrop

Thinking about how quickly time goes by and how short life really is, got me thinking about how I spend my time each day and how God wants me to spend my time. I don’t want to have regrets when I die.  I want to know when I arrive in heaven that I used my time to do what God called me to do here on earth.

You might have seen in the news last November that David Cassidy, the former child star on the popular TV program “The Partridge Family” died. Do you remember that program back in the early 70’s?  On his deathbed David told his daughter, “So much wasted time.”

How sad.  He was 67 years old.  A good friend of his shared, “David never did get the life he wanted.”  It’s tragic that a man with so much talent––died feeling as if so much of his life was wasted; plus, he never got from life what he wanted.  I can’t help but wonder if David really even knew what he wanted in life.

I don’t know if David was a Christian or not.  However, I believe as Christians we have clear instructions in God’s Word that show us what He wants (commands) from us while we are living on the earth.

The world needs to know God and

God wants the world to know Him

by using you and me to go out and love

every one, every day, every place.

“When one of the Pharisees asked Jesus, ‘Sir, what is the most important command in the laws of Moses?’  Jesus replied, ‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, and mind.’ This is the first and greatest commandment. The second most important is similar; Love your neighbor as much as you love yourself’” (Matthew 22:36-39).

It all comes down to two things:  Love God…Love People.  It’s really that simple.

I’m did not make a New Year’s Resolution this year; instead, I made a New Year’s Commitment––not only for this year but for the rest of my life.  I commit from now until the day I meet Jesus, with His help, to love God with all my heart, soul and mind, AND I will love people, even those who are hard to love.

A preacher once told me, “If you love Jesus, you will love people.”

Yes, that’s truth––truth that I want manifested more in my life this year and for the remaining years that I have left on earth.  I don’t want to say on my deathbed, “So much wasted time.”

Loving Deaf people is what God has called us to do. There are millions of Deaf people around the world, and I believe they are the least evangelized people group in the world with only 2% knowing Jesus as their Savior. Since 1989 Deaf Ministries Worldwide has been sharing the the Good News of God’s love with Deaf people and their families.

Pray about partnering with us––through your prayers and financial support––as we continue sending His light and truth to Deaf people everywhere. Deaf Ministries Worldwide is a 501 (c) (3) ministry. Salvation in Jesus changed my life in 1978! I’m sure He changed your life as well! And, thanks be to God, He is changing the lives of Deaf people and their families…now and for eternity.  THANK YOU!
