Rhonda shares,
I was praying, just talking with my Lord Jesus like usual, when suddenly I had a vision. I was not sleeping. It was not a dream. Whether my eyes were open or closed I could still see the vision. I knew I was seeing with my Spirit Eyes.
In front of me, just a little above me, it was as if I was looking through the clearest waterfall I’d ever seen. Beyond the waterfall-veil I could see two hands signing an ASL story/poem. His still small voice whispered the name of the poem, “Family”.

Right away I noticed that every sign–EVERY SIGN!–in the entire story/poem was made by using the “F” hand-shape in the American Sign Language Alphabet. I was amazed and thought, “How will I remember?” In the time it took for me to think that thought, “FAMILY” was seared into my mind, my heart, my soul, my spirit.
As with most story/poems–it is difficult, even impossible–to accurately express and portray the beauty of a story/poem from one language to another/from one culture to another. And so it is with the ASL Story/Poem “FAMILY”.
There have been only a few times that I’ve signed “FAMILY” publicly. In 2015 Gary preached a message at Treasure Coast Deaf Church in Port St Lucie, Florida. After his message I signed “Family”. This video is from that service.
I had this vision in 1990 and have “kept it in my heart” all these years. I believe this is a message from the hands of God FOR SUCH A TIME AS THIS!
I share God’s Word below to express the essence of His ASL Story/Poem “FAMILY”:
Jesus’ amazing invitation, “Look! I stand at the door and knock. If you hear My voice and open the door, I will come in, and we will share a meal together as friends” Revelation 3:20.
Jesus praying to Father God, “I pray that they will all be one, just as You and I are one—as You are in Me, Father, and I am in You. And may they be one in us so that the world will believe You sent Me” John 17:21.
Jesus came and told His disciples, “I have been given all authority in heaven and on earth. Therefore, go and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the Name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Teach these new disciples to obey all the commands I have given you. And be sure of this: I am with you always, even to the end of the age” Matthew 28:18-20.
After Jesus shares the parable of the talents, “Well done, good and faithful servant…enter into the joy of your Lord” Matthew 25:23.
