R: Double check this..as it had the heart picture. I have taken it offline..until i figure some things out.
Galatians 6:10 has been an anchor verse, a foundational verse for this ministry through the past 24 and 1/2 years. And recently, this verse has been daily on my mind and heart.
In the New Century Version it reads, “When we have the opportunity to help anyone, we should do it. But we should give special attention to those who are in the family of believers.”
In the New International Version it reads, “Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.”
Yes, of course, we should do good to all people, however the point that Paul is emphasizing in this verse is that we should especially do good to those who belong to the family of believers (Christians, Family of God).
God has been speaking to my heart about specific people in God’s family. There are many pastors and workers in Deaf ministry who are burned out, lonely, and need encouragement. Some of them would like to come to our retreat center in Florida for a time of rest, fellowship, and encouragement. Unfortunately, due to the economy, many of these precious laborers in the Deaf harvest field are not able to afford to fly or drive to Florida.
To ease the financial burden on these co-laborers, we want to be able to go where they are. Pastors have shared with us that they are on the verge of burnout most are isolated and wonder how they can keep going on. These co-workers in the Deaf Harvest Field are valuable, precious workers. The word of God tells us to pray that the Lord of the Harvest would raise up more workers—and we do pray. At the same time, we want to do all we can for the warriors who are serving in the Deaf Harvest Field now.
Rhonda and I understand what they have gone through, what they are going through, and want to encourage them in the Lord, face to face, to continue to fight the good fight of faith and finish the race.
God has put this burden in our hearts about starting a traveling ministry so that we can go and visit these precious pastors and their spouses all over the US and Canada. We believe these are the family of believers that God wants us to give special attention to.
