Dear Precious Parent:
The word of the Lord is truly more desirable than gold, honey, or even chocolate (Smile). It is His word that leads me, helps me, encourages me, comforts me, blesses me . . . day by day. I have been a Christian since 1978 and through the years I have experienced ups and downs in my life. I have been going through a valley and His word has been my rock. It is during the dry times--when I have not sensed His presense, when I cannot feel His touch, when God seems so far--that I especially find His word "delicious". I cling to His truths, knowing He will never leave me or forsake me, knowing that He loves me with an everlasting love and He is always with me. What an anchor His word is to me, saving me--in every way. I do admit, I look forward to being on top of the mountain basking in His presense. Until that day, I will do what I always do. I will talk with Him, read and meditate on His beautiful words of life and wait in His presense. I will read my devotional booklet, read my Bible, sing songs of worship and praise, and I will pray. And I will get my Precious Prayer Calendar out of my Bible and pray scripture prayers for my children and grandchildren. Whether you are in the valley or on the mountain top (spiritually speaking) I invite you to join with me in praying for your family, knowing "The prayer of a righteous person (MOM and DAD) is powerful and effective" (James 5:16b). "Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us (and in our families)...to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever! "Lord, let salvation spring up within my children, that they receive the salvation that is in Christ Jesus, with eternal glory" (Is. 45:8, 2 Tim. 2:10). 2. Grow in Grace. "I pray my children grow in grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ" (2 Pet. 3:18). 3. Love.
