THE HARVEST – WE MUST REAP!

Is the harvest really here?  Everything we see with our natural eyes says that the harvest is NOT ripe.  Look around.  Look at the political scene, look at our nation’s cultural values, look at the extreme weather changes.

Gary Barrett shares, “Diane Musil is a prayer warrior and an awesome woman of God. Diane is Deaf and legally blind. For over 25 years Diane has been an incredible blessing to Rhonda and me personally and also to this ministry!”

Matthew 9: 35-38, Jesus went through all the towns and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the good news of the kingdom and healing every disease and sickness.

When He saw the crowds, He had compassion on them, because they were harassed and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd.

“The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.  Ask the Lord of the harvest therefore, to send out workers into His harvest field.”

 Hour-GlassThe time is near!

 Jeremiah 8: 20, The harvest is past, the summer has ended, and we’re NOT saved.”

Did we miss it?  Time is near!

Years and years of ministry are coming to an end. Hey, come on, it’s time NOW to possess the “Deaf land”.

Who is the harvest? They may be your family or strangers–people you have never met. While you are young and healthy, put your hands to the plow in the harvest field and don’t look back.

Technology has changed so much in just a few short years. There is the Video Phone and many apps for signing face-to-face (even by mobile phone) like Skype and FaceTime. Plus there is social media apps like Facebook–the list goes on and on. All these tools can be used for Bible studies and evangelism. Let us keep our eyes open for ways to use technology for God’s purposes and His plans.

There are so many, many lost Deaf people. Do we see them?  Are our eyes open? What do we see Do we see that the harvest is TRULY ripe?

What field are we looking at? The field is where we work; the field is the “few” Deaf we associate with in our communities. However, that’s not all. When the Lord uses the word “field” He means ALL the Deaf harvest field. I believe the challenge for us as we think about “God’s field” is for us to LOOK UP AND LOOK OUTWARD and NOT LIMIT our vision for the Deaf harvest field is indeed PLENTIFUL!

Do we see through the Father’s eyes? All it takes is one glimpse. The eyes are the window of our heart and soul. Again, what are we looking at? Do we see through our Father’s Eyes the Truth that THE HARVEST IS RIPE!!! Do we share in His heartbreak over the field that hasn’t been reached yet? Is our heart broken in prayer and intercession asking the Spirit of God to lift up our eyes?

Prayer:  Lord, help us, open our eyes to see clearly Your Deaf harvest field, in Jesus Name, Amen.

SONG:  “LORD, LAY SOME SOUL UPON MY HEART”

‘”Lift up your eyes, Look on the fields”,

They white to harvest ARE;

And God is calling volunteers,

To serve Him near and far.

And you, dear Christian God now calls,

To labor for the lost.

Will you your life, your gifts, your all,

give Him at any cost?

I will be true, my Lord to serve,

Who died to set me free;

I’ll consecrate (dedicate) my life to Him,

and ever faithful be.

LORD, LAY SOME SOUL UPON MY HEART, AND LOVE THAT SOUL THROUGH ME;

AND MAY I EVER DO MY PART TO WIN THAT SOUL FOR YOU.
